Questions we get

Hang Tags FAQs.

What size should a hang tag be?

Common sizes run 2x3.5 inches, similar to a business card, up to 2.5x5 inches for tags carrying more information. Size should follow the product and how the tag attaches. A delicate accessory needs a smaller tag than a folded garment.

How are hang tags attached to products?

Most commonly a drilled hole with string, ribbon or elastic loop, or a plastic barb for garments. Bottleneck tags slip over a bottle neck without any attachment. We drill to your specified hole size and position, and can supply string or elastic with the order.

Which hang tag stock works best for apparel?

Uncoated, kraft or natural stocks read as authentic for apparel and take letterpress and foil well. Silk or suede laminate feels premium and resists scuffing in a retail environment where tags get handled repeatedly. Gloss coated is the least common choice because it reads as inexpensive.

Can hang tags be sequentially numbered?

Yes, sequential numbering and variable data are available, which matters for limited editions, raffle tags, inventory control and authentication. Provide the number range and starting value with your artwork.

What is a header card?

A folded card that tops a poly bag, with a die-cut hole so the packaged product can hang on a retail rack. It is how small products get shelf presence without a full box, and it is considerably cheaper than custom packaging for a first retail run.
