Campaign Planning · Tampa Bay

Decide what winning looks like before you spend anything.

Most campaigns are a collection of tactics that happened at the same time. A real campaign has one objective, a defined audience, a sequence, and a number everyone agreed to before launch, which is also the only way to know afterward whether it worked.

Questions we get

Campaign Planning FAQs.

What should a campaign brief include?

One objective, the audience, the core message, the channel mix with reasoning, the asset list, the timeline with owners, and the single metric that defines success. If a brief has four objectives it is not a brief, it is a wish list.

How far in advance should a campaign be planned?

Work backward from the date. Anything involving SEO or content needs three to six months of lead time because ranking cannot be compressed. Paid, email and print can move in weeks. Most campaign failures are timeline failures where the slow channels were started last.

How do you decide which channels to use?

By where the audience actually is and how they buy, not by what is fashionable. A federal contracting officer and a homeowner needing a roof are reached in almost completely different ways. We start from buyer behavior and work back to channels.

What is a realistic campaign budget split?

It depends on time horizon more than anything. If you need pipeline this quarter, weight paid heavily. If you are building for next year, weight content and SEO. We would rather explain the tradeoff than hand you a percentage split that ignores your timeline.

How do you know if a campaign worked?

Against the single metric agreed in the brief, measured over the whole buying cycle rather than the campaign window. B2B campaigns often look mediocre at close and good six months later, which is why the measurement window has to be set before launch.
