Entity Optimization · Tampa Bay

Make it unambiguous who you are.

Search engines and language models reason about entities, a specific business, person or concept, rather than keywords. If your business is described three different ways across the web, no system can be confident about any of them. Entity work is unglamorous cleanup that quietly improves everything downstream.

Questions we get

Entity Optimization FAQs.

What is an entity in SEO?

An entity is a distinct, identifiable thing, your company, a person, a place, a concept, that search engines and AI systems track independently of the words used to describe it. Understanding your business as an entity is why Google can answer questions about you without matching exact keywords.

Why does entity consistency matter for AI search?

Language models synthesize from many sources. If those sources disagree about your services, location or name, the model has low confidence and either omits you or hedges. Consistent description across sources is what makes a model willing to state something about you plainly.

How do I get a Google knowledge panel?

Knowledge panels are generated automatically when Google has enough corroborated information about an entity from authoritative sources. You cannot request one, but you can make it more likely with consistent structured data, sameAs links and third-party coverage. If one already exists, you can claim it and suggest corrections.

What is sameAs markup and why use it?

sameAs is a schema property linking your entity to authoritative profiles elsewhere, your LinkedIn company page, industry directories, verified social accounts. It is an explicit statement that these all refer to the same business, which helps systems consolidate rather than treating them as separate entities.

How long does entity optimization take to have an effect?

Site-side schema changes are picked up within days to weeks. Third-party corrections and knowledge graph updates take considerably longer, often 3 to 6 months, because those sources update on their own schedules and then have to be recrawled.
