AI Search Optimization · Tampa Bay

When AI answers the question, make sure you are the citation.

A growing share of your buyers never reach a results page. They ask an assistant and act on the answer. That answer either includes you, describes you accurately and links to you, or it recommends a competitor. This is the newest part of search and the part where moving early still buys a real advantage.

How we approach it

What makes this work.

1

We measure what AI says about you today

Before recommending anything, we document how each major assistant currently describes your business. Most owners have never checked, and the answers are often wrong.

2

Optimizing for extraction, not keywords

Language models pull self-contained passages that answer a question completely. That is a different writing and structure discipline than ranking a page.

3

Entities before content

AI systems reason about entities, not strings. If your business is not consistently defined across the sources they trust, no amount of content fixes the description.

4

Tracked alongside classic rankings

AI citations are monitored in the same monthly report as organic rankings, because you need to see both moving to know what is working.

Where we work

AI Search Optimization across Tampa Bay.

We are based in St. Petersburg and work throughout the region. Local markets differ more than most agencies admit, so we build strategy per market rather than per template.

Common questions

AI Search Optimization questions.

What is AI search optimization?

It is the practice of making your business accurately described, cited and recommended in AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It overlaps with SEO but adds entity consistency, answer-formatted content and citation source work.

What is the difference between AEO, GEO and SEO?

SEO targets ranked lists of links. AEO, or answer engine optimization, structures content so it can be lifted as a direct answer. GEO, or generative engine optimization, focuses on being included and cited in generated responses. In practice they share a foundation and differ in emphasis, and the terms are used loosely across the industry.

Does AI search optimization actually drive business?

It drives fewer clicks and more decisions. AI referral traffic is small relative to organic for most businesses today, but its conversion quality tends to be high because the assistant has already done the shortlisting. The bigger risk is the inverse: being described inaccurately or omitted while a competitor gets recommended.

How do I find out what ChatGPT says about my business?

Ask it, along with the questions your buyers would actually ask, who provides this service in my area, who are the leading firms in this niche, is this company reputable. Do the same in Perplexity and Gemini. Most business owners are surprised by the answers, and inaccuracies are common.

Can I control what AI says about my business?

Not directly, and any vendor claiming otherwise is overselling. What you can influence is the source material these systems draw on: your own site, your structured data, and the third-party sources they treat as authoritative. Consistency across those is what shifts the output.

Do I need to block or allow AI crawlers?

That is a strategic choice. Blocking them protects content from training use but removes you from the answers where you might otherwise be cited and recommended. For most local and professional services businesses, visibility is worth more than protection, but publishers with paywalled content often decide the opposite.

What is llms.txt and should I have one?

It is a proposed convention, a plain-text file offering AI systems a clean, structured summary of your site. Adoption is not universal and it is not an official standard, so treat it as low-cost and speculative rather than essential. The fundamentals of clear structure and good schema matter considerably more.

Is AI search going to replace traditional SEO?

It is changing it rather than replacing it. AI systems still draw heavily on the same signals that drive search rankings, crawlable content, authority, structured data and consistent entities. The practical shift is that being the best answer now matters more than being the highest link.
